ROOM PROTOCOLS FOR AA DOWNUNDER

 

 

Our aim is to conduct AA Downunder as close to face to face meeting as possible.  Our goal is to make your experience in AA Downunder a safe, friendly, warm and hopefully, a long one.   

 

In a face to face one would expect to share without the distraction of people calling out to one another or otherwise interrupting.  We expect the same so we have Protocols in place to ensure that members can share with freely without interruptions.

 

AA Downunder Meeting are run in Paltalk under the “G” classification which means that swearing or obscenities will not be permitted under Paltalk rules.

Protocols:

a)      No texting in the text area during the Meeting except to say Hi & Thank you to the speaker.  Use whisper or IM to talk with your friends during the meeting.

b)      No swearing or obscenities will be tolerated.

c)      No attacking another member is permitted.  If you have a problem with any member please settle it outside the room privately.

d)      Any disregard of the above will result in a red dot and a warning.  If the warning is ignored appropriate action can and will be taken.

 

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

AA Downunder is a CLOSED AA Meeting and not open to the general public.  The Meeting is for AA members or people with a desire to stop drinking.

The only time that Members of the public may attend is the Guest Speaker night run on Thursday (Northern Hemisphere) or Friday (Southern Hemisphere)

 

To preserve anonymity no cams are allowed.

When entering the room for the first time please expect a IM (instant message) from one of the Admins.  Please answer it promptly.  This greeting is sent to anyone entering the room for the first time and once we know you it will not be repeated.

 

We have Open chat before and after the Meeting where everybody can use the mic and text area freely so please do so!
